Vintage Rosettes

Need a little vintage flair on your tree this year? Try these out. You will need 2, 12" x 2" strips of DSP for each Rosette. But first score your 12 x 12 DSP every 1/2".  You can score two sheets at a time to speed things up. Now cut your DSP in 2" strips.  Adhere two pieces together to form a circle. push down flat and use a hot glue gun to hold it together in the center. Add your embellishments and you are good to go. Don't forget to add your glitter to the edges.

Three Trees

Look how fun these accordion folded trees are. Make sure you score your DSP first at 1/2". You can score both sheets at once. Then just mark your sheets and cut.  You can get several trees out of one sheet.
*added 11/15  We forgot to give you a little more info that can be quite helpful...Before you score the small and medium tree page, cut the bottom 4 inch section off with the two small trees on it because it needs to be scored the other direction:) sorry, hope you didn't already try that.  Also, when you punch the holes through the center,  START AT THE TOP, you can punch through a few folds at a time too. Have fun!

Timeless Photo Blocks- 2015 Convention Connection project

Fun photo or card blocks.  You can find these blocks at oriental trading. They are quick and easy to do. Cut your DSP at 2-7/8 x 12 then just wrap it around. Below are the step by step instructions that we used in our class.

Boxes of Love

You can find these boxes on pages 4 and 5 of the Occasions Catalog.  We just put our own spin on them and added a few more. These would be great for a countdown for your Valentine or kiddos.  Or use them as individual boxes for your child's class. I am pretty sure my hubby would like to find little love notes inside or coupons for back rubs and foot massages. The little square pieces are cut at 1-1/2"

Spiral flowers aka Rosettes

It would be a little hard to mail a card using this die, but it sure is pretty. To make them crunched up a little, just turn the flower upside down and hit it.  Great for getting out your frustrations:)

Christ trees/ Paint Stick trees

Here is one of the projects we have been working on.  

What a great way to remember Christ this Christmas! 

The steps are simple...cut 5 Home Depot paint sticks. Yes, they need to be from Home Depot. I will spare you the details, but we tried other sticks. Cut one stick into a 2" and 7". Another stick, 3" and 6".  Another stick, 4"  and 5" one at 8" and the last at 9". You will also need a 3-1/2" block and an 18" dowel.  

We cut 4 sheets of DSP (Designer Series Paper) to 8-1/2 x 11 so they would fit in our printer. Download the words with lines HERE , without lines HERE. Then we cut the words in strips and mixed the papers up. That will give you enough words for 8 trees. You could do all of the words the same color instead of mixing up the pages and get 2 trees out of one page.   Every bodies favorite was the one made with Mocha Morning paper, so added the paper to the download if you want to print it in color. You can do that HERE.  The sheep we found at Walmart, but anything would work. The pictures on the front we bought in a pack of 100 for $2.00, you can order those HERE. Any star till work on the top.  We love the one we used, that of course is from Stampin' Up!

JOY Banner

Sorry about our absence. We have been busy making tons of cute stuff to sell at a couple of craft shows.
 I am sure you are busy getting out all of your holiday decor. If all the other banners haven't inspired you to make your own banner yet.  This might.  It is very similar to the other joy banner we made, but what i love about this one is that the stencil was turned sideways. Have fun decking your halls!

Thankful Banner

Ready for some Thanksgiving Decor. This one is super easy.  We used vanilla cardstock circle to put the letters on.  You don't need too because there is a circle built into the stencils. The reason i put the letters on another circle was because I was trying to get some some depth. This banner cost about $10 to make once you add all the buttons and ribbon. The colors on this one are Marina Mist, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.

Here is another Halloween banner with the banner kit.  Some people were surprised that the banner is canvas not paper.  You get a lot in the kit too, it comes to about 50 cents a piece. This one we made at Jill Olsen's get together last month.  You will need the stencil kit for one. So cute though.

The back ground was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the letters sponged with the stencil. After you cut out the stars, just fold on the lines to make them pop out. Liberty would be a great word on this banner too.

This Banner is a fun advent calendar for 12 days.  You can add a new picture each day as you get closer to Christmas. Such a meaningful way to celebrate the holiday. For this banner, we made pockets with extra banners to slide the pictures in.

I know its still summer, but this banner might be fitting right now. I think the magnetic platform is a must with this project. We traced the letters with the stencils in this project also, yes, crazy, but we loved the layers.

The background of the Joy banner is done the same way as the Halloween characters that we posted yesterday. We tried another Joy banner with the letters stenciled on top of a whole piece of polka dot DSP. It looked was cute and it was quicker to do. I love how the ho ho one is hanging down. Lollies are perfect for banners.

We used the Perfect banner Pennants to make the hats on this banner. Then we sponged the the hats after we textured them. The pom poms are made with the scallop punch and the Blossom Party Die. To make the letters we traced the stencils and cut them out. (I know a little unusual for us but that's what looked the best.)
